.:456 Stone st :.

[After such a drastic event, the house at this address is immaculately clean, for a change. There is none of the usual rubble that normally befalls it, and even the stairs are intact for once. In fact, flowers line the living room on every stable surface. The largest vase is in the kitchen, though, where Hungary is doing the last touches to the icing on her cake. Ella Fitzgerald play on the phonograph.

It's someone's wedding anniversary. If you're nearby and can smell the flowers or the food, come pay a visit for free cake.]

.: Make-out Point:.

[Hungary is wasting what precious ammunition she has shooting targets, over and over again until nothing remains of them but tufts. The trees are next.]

Well, the last two times I tried started a war so I think it's for the best right now. I think Prussia and France are still mad at each other But maybe some day when the world is more peaceful! I'll marry a nice, beautiful, Catholic girl and we can live together. . .

Oh look at me, making you stand up this long. Have a seat! The dr-- children aren't home yet.

[And they normally treat her with polite avoidance anyway. She's already setting the table for cake.]

When the world is more peaceful, I hope for that as well. Or a nice Catholic boy, you know.

I don't mind-- ah. ( ( He takes a seat anyways and busies himself with trying to make the flowers look nice. He can do this. ) ) Hm? What are you thinking, Hungría?

I'm thinking... [She has no reason to sugarcoat this, so she neither frowns nor smiles] That this time last year, I spent the day avoiding Russia's tanks. There were no flowers anywhere.

He...

Perhaps I shouldn't be telling you this. We're from different times. Oh, which part of the cake would you like?

( ( Looking at the cake. It all looks good. ) ) Ah, it doesn't matter, gracias.

[It even has fruits in it. And caramel topping.] 1956. The war's been over for ten years, and Russia's breathing over my neck and Prussia's.

[Without prompting, she starts pouring the tea, as well. At least it's a distraction.]

Ah, ( ( He isn't sure how to react to hearing about Russia. Spain's always thought he was a nice guy! A little strange and waaaay too cold for his liking but nice! ) )

. . . So you and Prussia are getting along?

The best we have in a couple of hundred years. Comes with the territory of being stuck together for a while. I think here, he's too busy dealing with everything else to take shots at me.

[He'll need to do more implying. She's clueless over here, and she'd kill Prussia.]

Well, I haven't had to hit him over the head lately.

Mister Austria had been droned for a while, and quite distant even before that.

I do? I mean, I know you're strong but. . . Ah. ( ( Different years, of course. ) )

Back home, you and Austria are very happy together. It's been that way for awhile.

hose were good times, weren't they? I think we fought just as any other two did, but I don't regret those days.

I'm glad you remember us like that.

You two always got along from what I remember. Ah, even back then. . . ( ( When Hungary was just a servant girl in the Habsburg House. ) ) I wasn't surprised when I heard about the union, you know.

[There is a soft smile on her lips. Despite the heartbreak and misfortune, she looks back on certain memories fondly] I know what the others kept saying. It was a political union, like everything else. But I really did love him, Spain. Those years were the proudest of my life.

[She pushes another plate of sweets--no sense in underfeeding her guest--toward him] And it was nice to be treated like an equal by the person you loved.

You don't have to convince me, Hungría, I believe you. ( ( There's a sigh and Spain nods in agreement, helping himself to the cake. He isn't even realizing how much he's eating but it's been so long since he's last had Hungary's cooking. ) )

And together, the two of you became some of the stronges in all of Europe. Ah, it's almost like a child's story.

[A well fed guest is a happy guest, and Spain certainly looks happy enough, even if she doesn't share his optimism]

And like all good stories, it had to come to an end. Sometimes I envy you, not knowing what to come.

But I'm not... Unhappy now. Even in this insane place, I think I can go on living. And I think we nations might become closer yet.

speaking of getting closer ) )

How's Prusia doing? Do you know?

[You do that. Make Hungary proud of her cooking :') ]

Ah, not much has changed. His habits did, but the way he goes about them is the same. He snatches up the muffins when they're still too hot, and doesn't like the music I play.

[Sips tea, for emphasis, but sets the cup down a tad too hard.] But he doesn't complain that much anymore when I take his motorcycle on a ride. That does feel nice.

He eats your cooking? ( ( Legit surprise here. And then he realizes who's food he's eating and how that might have sounded and that tea cup clash just makes him more nervous. ) ) Not that there's anything wrong with it! It's just-

He doesn't think you're trying to poison him?
